Newcastle United continues to assess younger attacking options ahead of future transfer windows, with Dinamo Zagreb striker Dion Beljo becoming the latest forward linked with a potential move to Tyneside.
TransferFeed, citing Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, reported that Newcastle has already watched the 24-year-old in person as interest in him keeps growing across Europe.
“Dion Drena Beljo is attracting interest from major European clubs,” TransferFeed wrote. “The player was watched by scouts from Newcastle
during a match.”
Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have also been credited with monitoring Beljo, with January mentioned as a possible window for movement. Leeds United, Brentford, the City Football Group and Chelsea ownership group BlueCo have also previously been associated with the Croatia international.
Beljo joined Dinamo Zagreb in July 2025 and is under contract through 2030. Transfermarkt currently values the centre-forward at €15 million. The striker has also earned four senior caps for Croatia, scoring once.
“English media report that a minimum of 25 million euros will be required to persuade the management of the Croatian champion regarding Dion Drena Beljo,” TransferFeed reported regarding Dinamo Zagreb’s asking price. “The club hopes to retain him at least until the following summer, but it is possible that an offer could arrive in January that they could not reject.”
For now, Newcastle’s interest appears limited to monitoring his development, but the decision to send scouts to watch him live suggests Beljo is on the club’s radar for good.
Would Beljo be the type of striker Newcastle should consider in January, or should the club target a more established option? Share your thoughts in the comments.
