Every week, we will take a look at what the Kansas City Chiefs’ rivals in the AFC West are doing to prepare for the 2026 season.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos are losing 12 players to unrestricted free agency.
Among them is linebacker Alex Singleton, although there is buzz that Denver is making an effort to re-sign the team’s leader in tackles (135) in 2025. Singleton missed just one game after suddenly being diagnosed with testicular cancer. He was the true anchor of the Broncos’ defense and will be heavily
missed if the team does not re-sign him.
Other notable players
- Defensive tackle, John Franklin-Myers
- Running back, J.K. Dobbins
- Linebacker, Justin Strnad
- Wide receiver, Lil’jordan Humphrey
- Tight end, Mercedes Lewis
The Broncos rank 16th in the NFL with $20,948,090 of available cap space, per Spotrac. With Singleton’s potential departure, Denver could be focused on finding quarterback Bo Nix a weapon to throw to on offense.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are losing 19 players to unrestricted free agency.
Among them is kicker Daniel Carlson, who appears to be moving on after eight seasons with the organization. Carlson earned All-Pro honors in 2022 and finished his Raiders tenure with an 87.8% career field-goal percentage. He will also be remembered for drilling a 60-yard field goal in Week 18 to defeat the Chiefs.
Other notable players
- Edge, Malcolm Koonce
- Cornerback, Eric Stokes
- Linebacker, Devin White
- Wide receiver, Tyler Lockett
- Safety, Lonnie Johnson
- Quarterback, Kenny Pickett
- Safety, Jamal Adams
The Raiders have the fourth-most cap space entering free agency with $85,739,212. With so many holes on offense and defense, the Raiders finally have the cap space to make the necessary moves on the offensive line. They desperately need an offensive line to help create holes for Ashton Jeanty.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers are losing 20 players to unrestricted free agency
One of the most notable names is edge rusher Khalil Mack. The 35-year-old future Hall of Famer has contemplated retirement, but plans to continue playing in 2026. Mack will be a prime target for teams looking to win now. Entering his 13th NFL season, Mack has recorded 113 career sacks.
Other notable players
- Right tackle, Trey Pipkins
- Running back, Najee Harris
- Wide receiver, Keenan Allen
- Tight end, Tyler Conklin
- Edge, Odafe Oweh
- Cornerback, Benjamin St-Juste
