Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany did not launch into praise straight away for Lennart Karl after Bayern’s 3-1 win over Sporting CP in the Champions League. In this match, Karl had not only scored
the winner but also become the youngest player ever to score goals in three consecutive games in the Champions League. Meanwhile, all of European football had been watching and praise has flooded in from all corners of the internet.
But Kompany did not believe this was Karl’s best match, which made his impact even more remarkable.
“If I’m very objective, Lenny has played better games for us. But big compliment to him because he’s always dangerous,” the former Anderlecht head coach explained, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “It’s remarkable to be this much of a threat at his age without even having played his best game. He also defends and tracks back with the team. Nice development, but there’s more to come.”
That last sentence must be worrying for the rest of Europe.
