Normally, the Twins are the cure to what ails the Yankees, no matter what it is that ails the Yankees. Perhaps things are bad in enough in the Bronx now that not even their perennial punching bags can help. A solid win Friday night proved aberrational, the Yankees getting blown out by the Twins on Independence Day. If New York can bounce back and secure a victory today, they’ll at least cinch a series win and provide some hope that they’re stabilizing. Failing that, the sky will go back to falling.
It’ll be a matinee to close things with Minnesota today, and before then, you can catch up on last night’s American League action with Andrew’s Rivalry Roundup, check out Jonathan’s profile of Goose Gossage as part of our Yankee Birthday series, and also John’s weekly social media update.
