Last week journalists, including Fabrizio Romano, began reporting Al-Nassr’s interest in the 29-year-old French winger. One week later, the initial interest has turned into a certainty.
It now looks certain that Coman is set to become the newest addition to the Saudi Pro League club on a three year deal in the region of €30 million with bonuses that could take the overall package to €35 million.
According to Bild, Portuguese National Team captain Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the key factors that convinced
the Frenchman to join the Saudi Arabian club (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Cristiano Ronaldo played a key role in Kingsley Coman’s move to Al-Nassr. The Portuguese superstar campaigned for the Frenchman internally, raved about his qualities and insisted he wanted him to join. That also influenced Coman’s decision
It looks like Ronaldo’s impact on Al-Nassr isn’t limited to the football pitch but rather extends into the club’s transfer dealings.
Either way, this deal seems like a win-win for player and club. Coman gets a new experience in a new league and gets to play with a legend of the game. Meanwhile, Bayern get a decent fee for a player past his prime along with a significant reduction in their wage bill.
