Happy Friday, Dawg Nation! The offseason is over and it’s finally time to lace ‘em up between the hedges. When said shoes are laced up tomorrow at Sanford, we will see something familiar returning.
Georgia announced that the endzone lettering will go back to the old block lettering that was used pre-2013, at which time the administration opted for the “Bulldog Bold” font. What started with Cracker Barrel recognizing their branding mistake has morphed into the Dawgs going back to the font everyone
wanted. Now, if only we can ditch the new Uga logo and go back to one of the several former, superior Ugas.
In UGA-adjacent news, former Dawg QB Jaden Rashada has been named the starting QB for Sacramento State. Here’s hoping Jaden crushes it for Sacramento State and finds both joy and success in his new role.
Turning to basketball (yes, basketball!), Georgia will play Georgia State in an exhibition in Atlanta on October 15th. Georgia State is lead by former Dawg great and assistant Jonas Hayes, and this game will start the journey back to the NCAA Tournament for the Dawgs.
Finally, we mustn’t forget that tomorrow is Lee Corso’s final College Gameday. A staple of the show, Corso donned the Hairy Dawg headgear 13 times, amassing a record of 8-5 when doing so. Notably, he picked against UGA 22 times, going 16-6. He will be missed on the show, and we wish him nothing but the best in retirement.
GO DAWGS!!!
