Barcelona midfielder Pedri admits that Lamine Yamal was a little upset after Tuesday’s win for Spain over Croatia in the Nations League.
Yamal headed into the game after scoring three times and grabbing an assist in three games for Spain but over the international break but couldn’t find the back of the net in Split.
Pedri said his team-mate was frustrated afterwards and admits he has set himself very high standards.
“He played another great game. He lacked accuracy, that finesse he’s shown in previous
matches. He gets very angry when he plays well and wastes those chances we saw him create. Yes, he went to the bench a bit upset,” he said, per AS.
“He’s a very demanding player, he always wants to score, he always wants to contribute to the team. Even if he doesn’t score or provide assists , he contributes a lot because he attracts a lot of players. He’s a game-changer who gives us so much, and luckily we have him in the national team and at Barça.”
Yamal now heads back to Barcelona and will be aiming to maintain the form he’s shown at the start of the season with Hansi Flick’s side against Getafe on Saturday.
The Barcelona teenager has eight goals and six assists in eight matches in all competitions so far in 2026-27.
