Bayern Munich faced Borussia Mönchengladbach on Matchday 8, playing their 13th game of the 2025/26 season. Having been on an incredible winning streak so far, the Bavarians were cautious to maintain the streak.
Games against Gladbach are never easy and playing away makes it a tad harder. Yet, the Bavarians, even with a rotated squad, managed to make the game count. Playing against an extremely defensive side, they struggled in the first half but turned the game around in the second half and bagged three points with a 3-0 win. This makes them the only team from the top-five European leagues to have a thirteen game win streak from the beginning of the season.
Following the game, manager Vincent Kompany was asked about the record but played it relatively cool.
“Yes, that’s right, but we still can’t stop and have to keep going. Wednesday we have a cup game — it will be a different story,” he said, as captured via @iMiaSanMia. “We kept another clean sheet today. We’re having a good momentum. But we can’t get too arrogant now, we have to stay calm, work hard, and deliver a result in the next game.”
And that is how you know that Kompany fits perfectly into Bayern — exemplifying the Mia San Mia attitude.
Bayern Munich traveled to Borussia Mönchengladbach for a Bundesliga tilt featuring the league first-place and last-place teams.
The game went as expected — especially after Gladbach picked up an early red card, which completely shifted the momentum into Bayern Munich’s favor.
It was a daunting task to ask Gladbach to hold strong for over 70 minutes and eventually Die Fohlen just broke down. Ultimately, Bayern Munich walked away with a 3-0 victory over Gladbach.
