Clippers improve to 66-57
For once, red-hot Ralphy Velazquez was held in check Sunday, only going 1-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and two RBIs.
Columbus has plenty of other players step up, however, notably Kody Huff, who was perfect at the plate. Huff went 4-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two runs scored.
George Valera also had a great game, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and 4 RBIs.
Daniel Schneeman had a monster game as well, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base.
Starting pitcher Justin Campbell
returned from the IL and made his official Triple-A debut in impressive fashion, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings of one-hit ball with one strikeout and no walks.
Piggyback partner Austin Peterson allowed three runs on six hits in 4.2 innings with seven strikeout sand no walks. Steven Perez finished off the game with a two-pitch save to get the final out.

A week after blasting three home runs in the same game, Ryan Cesarini was back with another multi-homer effort on Sunday. Cesarini was sensational, going 4-for-5 with two home runs, raising his OPS with Akron to an insane 1.227. He also stole two bases.
He wasn’t the only standout.
Dean Curley hit a two-run home run, Nolan Schubart went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks and Luke Hill went 2-for-4 with a home run as well.
Jaison Chourio also singled, walked and stole a base.
Starting pitcher Cam Favors allowed two runs (zero earned) in 5.1 innings of three-hit ball. He struck out seven and didn’t walk anyone.
Adam Tulloch added a scoreless appearance of 0.2 innings. Michael Kennedy allowed a pair of runs, but Cam Walty, Zane Morehouse and Zach Jacobs finished off the game with a combined 2.0 scoreless innings to seal the victory.

Lake County jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but couldn’t hold it.
Tommy Hawke went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored while Cannon Peebles went 2-for-4 with a double and Jeffrey Mercedes went 2-for-4. Juan Benjamin and Garrett Howe both walked twice and Dauri Fernandez doubled and had two RBIs.
Starting pitcher Nelson Keljo was tagged for five runs on three hits with three walks with four strikeouts in 4.2 innings.
Piggyback partner Will McCausland allowed two runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeout sin 3.1 frames and Logan McGuire added a scoreless inning of relief.

In game one, Hill City got a pair of three-hit games from Alejandro Blasco and Deiten Lachance, who both went 3-for-5 with a home run.
Jhorvic Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a double and Erick Dessens doubled and was hit by two pitches.
Six different pitchers were involved in this game, with Wyll Hynes pitching the longest, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks in 3.2 innings. Luke Fernandez took the loss allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks in two innings.
In game two, Jhorvic Rodiguez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk while Lachance and Jhorvic Abreus had the only multi-hit games, both going 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
Starting pitcher Carson Lane tossed 2.0 scoreless innings and Angel Perez finished off the game by allowing a pair of unearned runs in extra innings in 2.0 additional frames.
