Elche coach Eder Sarabia has been full of praise for Hansi Flick and Marcus Rashford ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Barcelona in La Liga.
Sarabia, who worked at the club previously as Quique Setien’s
assistant, says the German coach has done a great job since taking charge of the Catalan giants.
“His arrival in La Liga has been very positive. I identify with his courage and his willingness to propose different things. Last season was a great season, and this year they haven’t quite reached that level yet,” he said.
“He’s a fantastic professional, and we remember the eight goals he scored against us with Bayern. He’s a coach who creates a great atmosphere and keeps the players fresh and energetic. It will be an honour for me to greet him and spend time with him.”
Sarabia also spoke about Rashford and played down Barcelona’s current injury crisis.
“Is Raphinha or Rashford out? I love Rashford, he drove me crazy in England… Is Lamine not at his best? If he’s not the best player in the world, he’s close. Olmo can play. They’re all fantastic players,” Sarabia said.
“They have more than enough options. They’re all internationals, and after the defeat against Real Madrid, they’ll be even more determined. They can’t complain. We’ve got everyone back.”
Sarabia’s side head to Barcelona with a dreadful record against the Catalans. Elche have never beaten Barca at home and have lost their last eight games in a row against Sunday’s opponents.
