Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Chelsea attacker Nicolas Jackson looks bleak per Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol (via @iMiaSanMia):
Nicolas Jackson has to come back to Chelsea.
Nothing was signed with Bayern Munich and there is no paperwork.
He was given permission to travel and have a medical and that permission has been revoked.
Chelsea have a good working relationship with Bayern – this situation may
have been different if this was a permanent deal but Bayern insisted on a loan.
This is a unique and awkward situation but the expectation is that everyone is going to act professionally.
If this was a permanent deal, Chelsea would be able to use the fee received to buy another forward – but it is not, and in any case, there are very few strikers available in the market at the moment.
Bayern could try to change the deal to a permanent move, but time is running out and potential replacements are scarce. Bayern have made it clear they are only in the market for loans.
It’s understandable the player is disappointed – he was hoping to become the heir to Harry Kane, but he is a Chelsea player and is contracted until 2033.
Bayern have been informed that Chelsea have no intention of loaning the player and he has been asked to return. The permission to have a medical has been revoked.
Journalist Rahman Osman of The Sun (via @iMiaSanMia), reported that Jackson and his entourage spent the night in Germany and will still push for a move on Sunday:
Nicolas Jackson and his entourage will spend the night in Germany. They have no intention of flying back to the UK as they push for the deal to go through. Jackson is determined to complete his Bayern Munich transfer.
Do not get too optimistic, though, as Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph is also reporting that Chelsea is expecting Jackson to return (via @iMiaSanMia):
The expectation at Chelsea is that, because he is under contract and considered a consummate professional, Nicolas Jackson will fly back to England and accept the situation, even though there is believed to be understanding over any disappointment.
But reports in Senegal from Jackson’s family have confirmed that he is still in Munich and has no intention of returning or playing for Chelsea. They claim he has not accepted the club’s decision to call off the loan and is furious over the situation he has been left in.
Jackson’s representatives declined to comment and it now remains to be seen how the situation is resolved. Chelsea have also declined to comment.
Amid all of the transfer craziness surrounding Bayern Munich’s work with Chelsea over a loan deal for Nicolas Jackson, there was an actual game to be played — and Bayern Munich was up to the task even if a slow start and a midgame loss of focus might have given Die Fuggerstädter some hope.
