What is the story about?
Another right-handed reliever to add to the 2026 Cubs bullpen:
Jacob Webb is 32 and was the 18th-round pick of the Braves in 2014 out of high school in Kansas. He made his MLB debut for the Braves in 2019 and pitched three seasons for them,
then spent 2022 in the Diamondbacks’ minor league system.
He’s been a reasonably solid reliever for the last three seasons for the Angels, Orioles and Rangers. In that span he has a 3.22 ERA and 1.157 WHIP in 169 appearances covering 176.1 innings, with 76 walks and 173 strikeouts.
He throws a lot of offspeed stuff, as noted in this graphic:

The Cubs have not yet officially announced this signing. When they do, the 40-man roster will stand at 35.
