According to a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Real Madrid head coach Álvaro Arbeloa is “convinced” that it will beat Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the Champions League and advance to the semifinals:
Sources with knowledge of Real Madrid’s preparations say manager Álvaro Arbeloa and his staff are convinced they can overcome Bayern at Allianz Arena, following a busy time of analysis and build-up. There’s an acceptance in Madrid that the league title is lost,
which means everything is riding on success on Wednesday.
As expected, Real Madrid is set to put its full focus on the Champions League. Los Blancos trail FC Barcelona by nine points with seven games remaining, which is not insurmountable, but is unlikely. That means every ounce of sweat and effort will be put into a road victory at the Allianz Arena.
With Bayern Munich looking at some lineup changes for the match, this showdown could get spicy.
