The Detroit Lions have made their selection with the 17th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and it’s Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller.
The pick comes as little surprise, as the Lions’ biggest need was offensive tackle following the release of Taylor Decker earlier this offseason. Though some may be surprised the pick was not Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling, Miller was a player that fit the Lions culture through and through, ranking sixth on our Grit Index measure.
Miller comes to the Lions
with a ton of playing experience, as a four-year starter at Clemson, almost exclusively at right tackle. That likely means Penei Sewell is officially making the move to left tackle, as expected.
