Defender Michelle Alozie has been traded from the Houston Dash to the Chicago Stars, both clubs announced today. Chicago sent $40,000 in allocation money in the trade to Houston. The contract runs through the 2028 season.
“Michelle’s proven ability
at both ends of the pitch, experience and leadership skills will be valuable assets for our team over the next few years,” said Stars general manager Richard Feuz. “We are excited to welcome her to Chicago as we continue to build for 2026.”
The Nigerian international has played with the Super Falcons since 2021, which has allowed her to participate in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympics. For the club, she has played with the Dash since her arrival in the league in 2021 and had a breakout campaign two years later, becoming one of the top goal scorers for the club. She leaves Houston after scoring seven goals and registering two assists in 33 starts and 75 regular-season appearances.
“CHI TOWN! I’m excited to be starting a new chapter with the Stars,” said Alozie. “I’m looking forward to meeting the team, connecting with them on and off the field, and seeing you fans, both in the city and in the stands. See you very soon, Chicago!”
