Josh Irving, a top-100 recruit in the 2026 class, is set to announce his commitment on Thursday, October 23rd. He will announce his college decision live on the CBS Sports College Basketball channel at
12:00 PM ET.
The Pasadena, California native is down to three schools in his recruitment. Kentucky, Louisville, and Texas A&M. However, it is the Aggies who are getting all of the buzz.
Over at Rivals, Joe Tipton is among three analysts who’ve all logged predictions for Texas A&M to land Irving. There’s also a 247 crystal ball pick for the Aggies from Trevor Andershock.
The 6-10, 200-pound center is a long, athletic player with a high motor. This past season with Pro 16, Irving quickly rose in the national rankings. His touch inside and his high motor have caught the eye of many coaches. He averaged 8.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks this past season with Pro 16. Irving’s high motor makes him very effective in the paint and a legit lob threat.
Irving has a chance to extend his game beyond the paint, but that isn’t the California native’s main game, although he did finish his season shooting 5/13 from 3-point range. He will look to keep two feet in the paint on both sides of the ball and be a problem on defense.
Irving completed his official visit to Kentucky earlier this month, marking off his last school on the list. Mark Pope and Co. are looking to secure their first commitment of the 2026 class, but it appears they won’t be the choice for Irving.
