Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Amarius Mims was already an ascending player last year, but he has taken it to another level in 2026.
Against the Jaguars, Mims continued his elite play, allowing no pressures on 58 dropbacks.
According to Next Gen Stats, Mims has allowed a 3% pressure rate this season, the lowest of any offensive tackle with 100+ pass blocks.
The Bengals should be very glad entering Week 5 with what seems to be an elite offensive tackle on the right side. He still needs to do a bit
of work in the run game to reach the rank of the truly top-tier offensive tackles, but he clearly is on the way to getting there.
The Bengals offensive line is looking good with Dylan Fairchild and Mims both looking good and having a couple of years of team control, along with Orlando Brown Jr., who has been a decent left tackle and is on a modest deal. There will be questions about replacing or extending Dalton Risner and Ted Karras in the offseason, but the Bengals have a good group of young offensive linemen to build off of.
The key for the long term is keeping Joe Burrow healthy. Mims is a good start for that, and the Bengals have shown improvement in their ability to draft offensive linemen after struggling for a while.
Another strong draft could set up the Bengals’ offensive line for years after their big hit with Mims.
