What is the story about?
Happy Saturday, Dawg Pound!
There are a handful of college football games today that should be of particular interest to Cleveland Browns fans, especially those who are ready for the team to dive back into the quarterback market in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Those games include:
- Fernando Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers against Wisconsin. An easy matchup for Mendoza.
- LaNorris Sellers and the South Carolina Gamecocks against Texas A&M. A very tough road game for Sellers.
- Ty Simpson and the Alabama Crimson Tide against Oklahoma. Even though it is a home game, there is no such thing as an easy day in the SEC.
- Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes against North Carolina State. Just kidding!
- Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns against Georgia. As long as people continue to talk about Jimmy Haslam’s love for the Manning family, Arch will be tied to the Browns as a draft target.
So it will be a busy day of quarterback watching, leading up to Sunday’s game between the Browns and the Baltimore Ravens, which will involve a very different type of quarterback watching for Browns fans.
Until the day’s games kick
off, let’s run through the latest news and notes about the Browns and the NFL in today’s edition of the Saturday Dawg Chow.

- Paul DePodesta leaves behind mess in Cleveland (Browns Zone) – Well, here we are. Only eight Browns games left, not counting the playoffs — nudge, nudge! It’s amazing how time flies when you are 2-7. It’s also amazing how time flies when you do not have a quarterback, or think you have a quarterback when you don’t. That’s where the Browns are now.
- The ‘bad bullpen’ of football: Is this position group the biggest reason for the Browns’ unwatchable season? (Terry Pluto) – While the endless quarterback carousel dominates Browns headlines, a more fundamental issue lies at the heart of the team’s struggles: a failing offensive line that has created a cascade of problems across the entire roster.

- Jaylen Waddle delivers for Dolphins with Tyreek Hill out (ESPN) – The role of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle changed after Tyreek Hill’s season-ending knee injury in Week 4; he became the Dolphins’ de facto top receiver. What didn’t change, however, is how the Dolphins coaching staff viewed him.
