The Jets gave their starters on offense and defense a series in the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When asked whether the starters will continue to get preseason action in the second game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Glenn had the following to say.
That isn’t
exactly a clear answer. I guess if we are trying to read between the lines, Glenn did give the starters work in the opener. So if we interpret, “The players are going to play,” in this context, it seems reasonable to me to believe the Jets plan to give their starters at least some work.
I wouldn’t imagine that anybody nursing even a minor injury will be in the lineup. The regular season opener isn’t until September 13 so the top priority should be getting everybody healthy for that game.
I personally don’t think it would be the worst idea in the world for Glenn to increase the work load of the first team offense and defense a bit this week.
Do you want to see the starters in the lineup?
