Barcelona defender Jules Kounde says he’s relishing the chance to take on PSG again in the Champions League ahead of the clash between the two sides at the start of October.
PSG and Barcelona looked destined to meet in the final last season, before the Catalans suffered a heartbreaking semi-final defeat to Inter.
Luis Enrique’s side then lifted the European Cup after thrashing Inter in the final, and Kounde says he’s expecting a great match against the defending champions.
“It’s a match we’ve marked
because it’s a great match. Last season, I think it was the match people probably wanted to see the most, especially in the Champions League final,” he told a press conference.
“Because of the history of the confrontations too. There’s a special flavor. Because of the quality of PSG too, we always want to rub shoulders with the best. It’s a match we’re looking forward to.”
Barcelona will be determined to go one better in the Champions League this season to make up for last season’s disappointment. The early match-up with PSG promises to be another thrilling encounter as two of the continent’s best teams meet again.
