Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund was costly in more ways than one. Ismael Saibari, Serge Gnabry, and Michael Olise all picked up injuries, leaving Bayern waiting for medical assessments to determine how many attacking options will be available for the upcoming fixtures.
With Luis Díaz already sidelined and Jamal Musiala still working toward his return, the coaching staff could suddenly find itself having to reshuffle its attacking options considerably. Bayern has plenty of talent,
but somebody will need to take on additional responsibility.
Could this be the opportunity Lennart Karl needs to establish himself as more than an exciting young prospect? Will Harry Kane have to shoulder even more of the attacking responsibility? Or is it time for players like Konrad Laimer and Tom Bischof to provide additional contributions going forward?
There is also the question of whether the potential absence of Gnabry and Olise creates an opportunity for another young attacker to claim a more prominent role.
Bayern has enough quality to navigate this difficult period, but the squad will need contributions from players who might not have expected to be so important.
So, who needs to step up the most? And who do you trust to take advantage of this opportunity?
