The Kentucky Basketball staff has been busy evaluating high school prospects and extending offers since the first session of the live recruiting period earlier this month. Their most recent offer was extended to rising seven-footer Cherif Millogo after watching him on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
The Wildcats originally expressed some interest in Millogo last summer, and joins a list of offers that include Alabama, Arizona, BYU, and USC, among others. He is now the 19th player in the class to receive
an offer from Kentucky as Mark Pope casts a wide net.
“I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of Kentucky. Thank you to Coach Pope and all the Staff for this opportunity,” Millogo wrote on social media.
Standing 7-foot-3 with a 7-9 wingspan, Millogo has elite size and potential, but he is still very raw in terms of his skills. From the tiny West African country of Burkina Faso, Millogo only started playing basketball just a couple of years ago, using videos of Kevin Durant to teach himself how to shoot.
Millogo moved to the States three years ago, and his guardian is former UCLA and NBA player Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who came to the US from Cameroon, Africa.
As of now, Millogo is ranked as high as 21st overall and second among centers in the 2027 class by Rivals.
