Just when you thought this weekend’s UFC White House event couldn’t get any crazier, we now have Nitro Circus stuntman Travis Pastrana backflipping his dirt bike over the South Lawn on Saturday because … well, because ‘MURICA!
I grew up during the Evel Knievel craze of the late 70s so this feels like a nice bit of nostalgia.
“We’re bringing in modified ramps from Pastrana-land to get way higher than the Octagon in order to see the White House,” Pastrana told Capital Gazette. “It’s going to be a pretty
big jump in order to get that picture of my motorcycle with the White House in the background.”
UFC CEO Dana White made it happen.
The jump will happen on Saturday (June 13) but an exact time has yet to be revealed.
“This is such an honor that I’m skipping the Southern Ohio rally event, which could cost me the season championship,” Pastrana said. “Subaru wasn’t thrilled, but they understood. There is a chance to still win the championship. For me to be able to ride my motorcycle in the capital of our country is such an incredible honor. The only opportunity was Saturday, and when it was presented to me, I didn’t ask any questions; I just said I would be there.”
