In the main event, Jack
Della Maddalena defends his welterweight title against Islam Makhachev. The superfight materialized after Makhachev chose to vacate his lightweight title following four straight successful defenses and move up to the 170-pound division. Della Maddalena won the welterweight belt this past May with a thrilling decision win over Belal Muhammad and now looks to stop Makhachev’s 15-fight win streak.
The headliners can weigh no more than 170 pounds for the championship bout.
The co-main event also feature an epic superfight, as Valentina Shevchenko defends her flyweight title against former strawweight champion Zhang Weili. Like Makhachev, Zhang vacated her belt following a string of successful defenses and now looks to join Amanda Nunes as the only women to win UFC titles in two divisions. Shevchenko is currently in her second reign as 125-pound champion and she seeks her ninth successful title defense in total.
Shevchenko and Zhang can weigh no more than 125 pounds for the championship bout.
