The Washington Commanders announced several roster moves before the team hits the field for the first practice of Dallas week. They made the signing of DE Drake Jackson official, adding a former 2nd-round
pick from the San Francisco 49ers.
To make room for him on the 53-man roster, the Commanders have placed WR Nah Brown on injured reserve. He suffered a groin injury against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, and hasn’t played since. He was limited for the first two practices of last week, but didn’t practice on Saturday, and wasn’t active for Monday night’s home game against the Bears.
Brown is now out for at least four more weeks as he deals with a possibly reaggravated groin injury. Dan Quinn told reporters on Saturday that Brown and Terry McLaurin(quad) made good progress that week, but they just weren’t quite there yet. McLaurin hasn’t practiced since getting injured in Week 3, and has missed the last three games.
The Commanders released G Tyler Cooper from the practice squad, and it was expected that G Julian Good-Jones was going to be re-signed to the practice squad after visiting the team last week along with Drake Jackson. Good-Jones was with the Commanders last two seasons and this offseason. He was placed on injured reserve and received an injury settlement, but has now returned to the team.
CB Jonathan Jones was spotted on the side fields at practice last week, and has now had his 21-day practice window opened. He suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2, and has missed the last four games. Dan Quinn said they expected him back after his month on IR, and he’s now back on the practice fields.
