According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, FC Köln attacker Said El Mala would not be against a move within the Bundesliga to Borussia Dortmund, but the Black and Yellows are not quite sure about bringing in the 19-year-old:
🚨🆕 Said El Mala and his family, especially his mother, who is also his agent, can well imagine a move to Borussia Dortmund.
1. FC Köln are also expecting an approach from #BVB following Karim Adeyemi’s imminent departure.
However, BVB are currently
not prepared to pay up to €50m.
BVB have been informed of all the terms and demands, but there are still internal doubts about the deal.

El Mala’s situation could, indeed, change if Adeyemi moves to FC Barcelona. That transfer, however, might not be decided for a few days or even weeks.
There was an argument that El Mala should have been included in the German national team for the World Cup, but he was ultimately left home. While there was a strong connection to a move to England (particularly Brighton), El Mala’s openness to BVB could signal he might actually want to stay in Germany.
If so, the league would be better off for it.
