The excitement and energy is never in short supply in the biggest fixture of the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich took on Borussia Dortmund and came out on top in a close 2-1 victory. While it was not a perfect
night, Konrad Laimer spoke about the charged atmosphere and the drive to perform well in front of the fans.
After the game, Laimer opened up about the emotions behind Der Klassiker. “It feels nice to win. It was a game between the two best teams in Germany. It was special and an important win. We could’ve done a few things better, but the most important thing is the 3 points. It’s a lot of fun to play with this team in front of these fans. We always want to dominate and win games. We’re on a good path” said Laimer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Both teams came into the clash unbeaten with a resolve to continue their streak. The Dortmund side were adamant in defense putting up a wall of five men to stop the Bayern attack. However, with a relentless drive as mentioned by Laimer, Bayern found the net twice to reward their fans with a sweet victory.
