In just his fourth game on the German national team, Tristan da Silva has posted a career-high that’s going to be tough to beat. The Colorado Buffaloes star scored 25 points in Germany’s 120-57 win over Great Britain.
Da Silva has always been a model of efficiency and he only needed 12 shots (including free throws!) to reach that point total. He made all five of his two-point attempts, as well as five of seven from beyond the arc. He also added 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block to go with
his game-high +56 (!) in 25 minutes of action.
This could be called a statement game, but Germany has dismantled everyone in their. They won by 30 over Montenegro, beat Sweden by 22 and secured a 107-88 victory over a strong Lithuanian team (RIP to Rokas Jokubaitis’s knee). Germany is averaging 109.5 points per game in 40-minute matches in a defensive-minded FIBA competition.
It would be shocking if Germany doesn’t win EuroBasket 2025. Head coach Álex Mumbrú has them playing smart, physical defense, while the offense speaks for itself as their off-ball screens and timely passing produce open shots at will.
Da Silva will next suit up on Wednesday when his team takes on Lauri Markkanen’s Finland at 7:30 p.m. local / 11:30 a.m. MST. All of EuroBasket can be streamed online here.
