The Cincinnati Bengals hosted the Chicago Bears for both a joint practice and preseason matchup this week.
In Saturday’s game, the Bengals were dominant across the board, in all three phases, moving to 2-0 in preseason play with a 27-9 win over the visiting Bears.
The biggest piece to preseason play is the final roster spots up in the air as week one approaches, and the Bengals have quite a few guys showing flashes this month.
One name that has skyrocketed is wideout Dohnte Meyers, but another name that has been
stellar this preseason is 7th-round draft pick Landon Robinson.
Robinson grew up a huge Bengals fan and had a decorated career with the Navy Midshipmen before Cincinnati used their final 2026 draft selection to bring him to Cincy.
Saturday night, Robinson was everywhere for the Bengals defense and finished the night with multiple sacks, tackles, and a batted pass.
Robinson was also very disciplined in his assignments, which does not show up in the stat sheet but is crucial to either stopping the run or getting to the quarterback.
The past few years, Robinson would have been a roster lock, but the Bengals front office worked incredibly hard beefing up a horrific defensive line, and now he is fighting for a spot… Which is so good to see.
Based on what we have seen so far, Robinson will likely make the 53-man roster, but the depth is there this year, creating exciting competition for Zac Taylor’s team.
