As Eagles fans love to say, it’s “Dallas week”.
The Cowboys vs Eagles matchups are some of the more anticipated matchups on the schedule every season. We already know Jalen Hurts will not be playing, but Saquon Barkley is expected to make his return.
The Cowboys will also be getting some reinforcements back with Cobie Durant and DeMarvion Overshown expected to return to the starting lineup and hopefully provide a nice boost the the struggling Cowboys defense.
Schottenheimer stands firm amid Cowboys’ struggles: “I know what a great coach I am” – Briana Aldridge, CBS Sports
Brian Schottenheimer has done a lot of talking
this season, but we have yet to see much action. If the wins don’t start coming soon, the Cowboys second-year head coach could be in trouble.
“We’ve got to play better; I’ve got to coach better,” said Schottenheimer.
The words might mean more in Week 7 if they didn’t seem repetitive after back-to-back losses. The honeymoon phase seems over, and Cowboys Nation’s frustration isn’t going unnoticed.
“No one likes it. I block out most of it; some of it gets to me, but at the same time, I’ve got strong shoulders,” Schottenheimer said. “I know what a great coach I am, and I know what this team is capable of. That’s what I focus on.”
Dallas Cowboys Injury Report For Week 7 vs Eagles: George Pickens, 10 Others Listed – Josh Sanchez, SI.com
Despite remaining very healthy on the offensive side of the ball, the Cowboys defense has been very banged up to start the season. Based on the first injury report for Week 7, the Cowboys may be getting healthy at the right (most desperate) time.
With practice picking up, the team has dropped its initial injury report for the week, with 11 total players getting listed. Von Miller was given a veteran rest day, while All-Pro return specialist KaVontae Turpin (ribs) and starting linebacker Dee Winters (calf) were also among those who did not participate.
Star wide receiver George Pickens also popped up on the injury report, officially listed as limited with a shoulder injury. With the Cowboys’ struggling offense trying to find its groove again, the last thing they can afford is for a player of Pickens’ caliber to be sidelined, so hopefully he will be back to full participation by the end of the week.
Cobie Durant aiming to do his part for Cowboys secondary, help create turnovers – Tommy Yarrish, DallasCowboys.com
Cobie Durant looks to make his return in week 7. His play in the secondary has been severely missed after missing the last four games due to a hamstring injury.
“A blessing for sure,” Durant said. “Injuries happen, things happen man, but you’ve just got to stack those days that you’re missing and do your part. And then be ready when your name is called when you get back out there.”
Durant was officially listed as limited on the practice report Thursday, and added that detail when talking to reporters in the locker room Thursday. He and the team are being cautious as hamstring injuries can sometimes be unpredictable.

Is blueprint out for stopping Cowboys’ offense? Teams are beating Dak Prescott in this key area – Joseph Hoyt, Dallas Morning News
What is going on with the Cowboys inability to beat the blitz? After years of Dak Prescott dominating against the blitz, this year has been much different. Can the Cowboys adjust their protection rules and get back on track or is the blueprint out?
The Cowboys‘ offense has struggled the last two weeks, especially compared to how they performed last year with similar personnel. There’s a host of reasons: big plays have disappeared; deficits have been common; the running game has lowered both its productivity and its usage.
Those factors might stem from one overall concern: Is a blueprint out there on how to quell the Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers, the last two teams the Cowboys have faced, sure looked like they followed one. Both teams blitzed Prescott 17 times, according to pro-football-reference.com. It was the two-highest blitz totals Prescott has seen this season.
Cowboys can get the victory Monday night in Philadelphia – Mike Poland, Blogging the Boys
The Cowboys have already lost a game against a young, inexperienced QB. On Monday they face another.
The Cowboys are 2-4 after losing to Green Bay, but Monday night gives them the perfect opportunity to change the mood. Philadelphia is also 2-4, has lost four games in a row and will be without Jalen Hurts.
Hurts will miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with blood clots and undergoing treatment. Philadelphia will instead start Tanner McKee.
