On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs called up a pair of practice squad players for Sunday night’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts
.Kansas City currently only has four linebackers on their 53-man roster after Cooper McDonald was placed on the Reserve/Injured list this week due a knee injury suffered in Week 1. McDonald must miss at least Kansas City’s next four contests.
With numbers light at the linebacker position, Cole Christiansen will be available on Sunday. Christiansen has bounced between Kansas City’s active roster and practice squad since 2022. He has played in 15 regular season games with the Chiefs, but Christiansen has never taken a defensive snap with the team. The Army product was in on at least 67% of the Chiefs’ special teams plays in all three of his 2025 appearances.
Kansas City called up defensive tackle Marcus Harris for the second week in a row. Harris initially made the active roster out of this year’s training camp, but he was waived the following day as the Chiefs continued tweaking the roster.
After signing with the practice squad, Harris was brought up for Week 1 and took five defensive snaps against the Denver Broncos. He may be getting the call a second time as an insurance policy. Star defensive tackle Chris Jones was deemed questionable on the final injury report for Sunday’s contest due to a calf ailment.
The Chiefs can only elevate Harris from the practice squad one more time without having to add him to the roster.
