As the new basketball season approaches, the Portland Trail Blazers are doing some roster shuffling with the Rip City Remix, their G League affiliate. Mike Scotto is reporting on X that Portland has signed
6’9 forward/center Alex Reese.
The Portland Trail Blazers and Alex Reese have agreed to a deal, agent Billy Davis told @hoopshype. Reese averaged 5.3 points on 47% shooting from the field and 37% from 3-point range in 14 games with the Philadelphia 76ers last season. He also played one game for the OKC Thunder.
Local media member Sean Highkin is repeating that news and adding that Portland is expected to sign 6’8 wing Blake Hinson then relocate both Hinson and Reese to the Remix. Hoopsrumors has details on Hinson:
Hinson went undrafted out of Pitt last year, following a senior season where he averaged 18.5 points per game. Right after the draft, he agreed to a two-way deal with the Lakers. The Lakers waived him and he subsequently signed an Exhibit 10 pact with the Warriors. In 50 games with Golden State’s G League affiliate, Hinson averaged 17.7 PPG while shooting 44.5% from the field and 36.6% on three-pointers.
Hoopsrumors adds that the Blazers have reportedly agreed to Exhibit 10 deals with Sean Pedulla and Andrew Carr, but neither of those are official yet.
