Pregame notes
The Mystics are straddling the .500 line this season, mostly from below the line looking up with their 4-6 record at the moment. Which is certainly an improvement, but also whets the appetite for more success.
On the other hand, the Toronto
Tempo are straddling the line, however, from the top of it looking down.
The Mystics just went 2 games under .500 after a really disappointing and close loss (76-78) to the Fever earlier this week at home, and after losing 5 of their last 7 games.
A win for the Mystics would certainly help turn the tide a bit, especially against a solid team as the Tempo.
Also, given that Brittney Sykes, a former Mystic, is starring for the Tempo now with over 20 points a night, that would definitely mean even more.
Sonia Citron is coming back down to Earth a bit after starting the season shooting over 56 percent from the field in the first handful of games, and is now hovering closer to the 50 percent mark. They’ll need each and every of her 17 or so points a night and then some, to slow down Sykes and her teammates.
Especially so if Kiki Iriafen is out (day-to-day right now).
Here are the highlights from when the Mystics last played the Tempo.
