Bengals surprise with DJ Turner addition to injury report
As the Cincinnati Bengals are gearing up for the first game of their 2026 campaign, all Eyes are on whether the team and cornerback DJ Turner can get a deal done before the season starts. Turner played like a top corner last season, but he has fought the injury bug a few times in his career.
A hamstring issue popping up Thursday before Week 1 isn’t helping that cause. It was a limited practice, though. So hopefully the young corner is ready
to go and won’t miss this week. He gets the task of covering second year wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who had a hot start to last season.

It just goes to show how good of a run the Bengals have had at wide receiver. Since the turn of the millennia, We have watched Johnson, Green and now Chase dominate NFL defenses. Even going back to guys like Pickens and Curtis, though, you can tell it has always been something Bengals’ fans have been spoiled with. Now, we may be watching the best of them ascend to the top of the franchise’s record books.

There is a reason the Bengals give Chase his own press conference to talk to the media. The guy is a one-of-one both on and off the field. Just a funny moment prior to the beginning of the season.

When it all is said and done, we may look back and wonder how it wasn’t more obvious to everyone that this defense wasn’t going to be good. Howell is the gravy on top of a summer spent attacking the defensive line. Last season, it seemed the defense would be lucky to get pressure on the quarterback at all. This year, they may have quarterbacks rushing into mistakes.

It sure didn’t age well putting Drake Maye in Tier 1 with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford, huh? It will be curious to see how that shifts next week as guys like Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott were left in Tier 2.
