While the Minnesota Vikings’ offense can’t seem to find its way into the end zone, the National Football League has recognized the one guy on the roster who doesn’t seem to have any problems putting points on the board.
On Wednesday, the league named kicker Will Reichard the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. This means that a member of the Vikings has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week for three weeks in a row after Isaiah Rodgers won the award in Week 2 and return specialist Myles
Price took home the honors in Week 3.
Reichard accounted for all of the Vikings’ scoring in the team’s 15-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium, connecting on field goals of 50, 47, 41, 33, and 29 yards on the day. It’s the second time in his career he’s hit five field goals in a game, equaling the feat he accomplished in Week 7 last season against Philadelphia.
Going back to last season, Reichard has now hit 31 consecutive field goals, which is the currently longest streak in the NFL and ties him with Fuad Reveiz for the third-longest streak in Vikings history. Counting extra points, he has converted 56 consecutive kicks, with his last miss* coming on a field goal attempt against the Los Angeles Chargers last season.
(Yeah, I put a * next to “miss” there for a reason.)
Reichard was also named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Month for the final month of the 2025 season.
Reichard’s award makes the Vikings the fifth team in NFL history to bring home three consecutive Special Teams Player of the Week awards, and the first to do it since the San Francisco 49ers did it in 2011. The other teams to have done so are the 2007 San Diego Chargers, the 2004 New Orleans Saints, and the 2003 Kansas City Chiefs.
Congratulations to Will Reichard on being named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season!
