The New England Patriots’ depth will be in the spotlight at multiple positions on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Besides already missing star receiver A.J. Brown, the team is down multiple other key players in Week 3.
On offense, tight end Eli Raridon is a no-go after hurting his thigh last Sunday versus Pittsburgh. With the nominal TE2 out, the Patriots will have Cameron Latu and Tanner Arkin provide depth behind starter Hunter Henry.
On defense, two starters are out. Outside linebacker
Dre’Mont Jones will miss the game with a shoulder injury also sustained last week, as will safety Craig Woodson — same injury, same game it happened in. As a consequence, New England is down to three players each at the respective positions: Elijah Ponder, Gabe Jacas and Jose Ramirez on the edge, and Kevin Byard, Jaylen Reed and practice squad call-up Mike Brown at safety.
The Patriots’ full game day roster looks as follows.

While the Patriots’ injury situation is dire — we didn’t even mention OG Mike Onwenu, ED Quintayvious Hutchins or S Dell Pettus, who were all placed on injured reserve this week — it’s not all bad. Starting cornerback Carlton Davis, after all, will be making his comeback after missing last week’s win over the Steelers with a neck injury.
