Kentucky welcomed one of the top big men in the 2027 recruiting class to Lexington over the weekend, with four-star center Paul Osaruyi making his first official visit to UK.
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound prospect got an up-close look at Mark Pope’s program, spending time around the team and watching the Wildcats practice. Osaruyi told KSR the visit gave him an opportunity to see how he could fit into Kentucky’s system.
“I was mainly at their practices … seeing how they are as a team, seeing how I fit
into their whole playing style,” Osaruyi told KSR. “It was pretty good.”
Osaruyi also got his first look at Rupp Arena, describing the possibility of eventually playing there as “pretty surreal.”
Kentucky has plenty of competition for Osaruyi, with West Virginia, Indiana, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Arkansas and Kansas among the programs pursuing him.
Ultimately, Osaruyi told KSR he’s looking for the program that’s the best fit and can help him develop toward his goal of reaching the NBA.
