Ahead of their cuts to shape the 53-man regular season roster, the Los Angeles Rams have traded offensive tackle KT Leveston to the Cleveland Browns, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The return compensation back to Los Angeles is reportedly a 2028 seventh round draft selection.
The Rams picked Leveston in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Coming out of college from Kansas State there
was a sense he could play at tackle as well as along the interior. Since joining LA, Leveston has primarily been a tackle particularly on the left side.
The second-year lineman was a top performer for the Rams’ offense during the preseason, posting the second-best Pro Football Focus (grade) among the team at 84.4. 100% of his snaps came at left tackle.
LA’s pecking order at offensive tackle after this trade remains to be sorted.
Alaric Jackson’s blood clotting issue appears to be trending in a positive direction and there’s a growing sense that he’ll be ready in time to start at left tackle in Week 1 against the Houston Texans. Rob Havenstein is reliable on the right side but has had his fair share of injury troubles in recent years.
In terms of backups, the Rams are left with veteran DJ Humphries—who they acquired shortly after the news broke on Jackson’s health problems—Warren McClendon, veteran David Quessenberry, and a long-shot to make the roster in AJ Arcuri.
