AEW’s next PPV is fast approaching with Full Gear on November 14 from Phoenix, Arizona. Three title bouts are official for the card. One of those matches is good news and bad news for Swerve Strickland. He got his rematch, but he didn’t get the stipulation yet.
The Good, The Bad, and The Guapo won the AEW World Trios Championship from Swerve and New Level at WrestleDream. It was 2 out of 3 falls, and that was supposed to blow the feud off to prove which team is better. Swerve must not have gotten
that memo, because he spitefully demanded a rematch to take the gold back from nemesis Hangman Page. Swerve wanted to up the danger for Texas Death. Hangman declined that request. He doesn’t want to drag his partners into that world.
Kofi and Austin Creed didn’t sign up for Texas Death either. Their reactions on social media implied that they didn’t know a match of this severity existed in AEW. Swerve’s replies seem like he is eager to introduce them to this type of danger.
Come Saturday night live on Collision (Oct. 24, 2026), Swerve was victorious in action against Myron Reed. The Rascal put on a show.
Swerve was a step quicker when it mattered most. He caught Reed to counter for a vertebreaker. The Swerve Stomp finished the job.
During that broadcast, AEW confirmed that Swerve & New Level will have their trios title rematch at Full Gear. No stipulation is attached at this moment. It seems silly to go backward to a standard match. Odds are that this match evolves before the PPV date.
The updated card for Full Gear includes:
- AEW World Tag Team Championship: Young Bucks (c) vs. Mark Davis & Jake Doyle
- AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship: Brawling Birds (c) vs. Wrathlander
- AEW World Trios Championship: Hangman & Brodido (c) vs. Swerve Strickland & New Level
The young Bucks were surprisingly squashed in an eliminator match by the Callis Family brutes. Wrathlander previously earned their shot in a contender match, but they had to wait for Jamie Hayter to heal from injury.
