Well here’s some good news: Cayden Boozer will be back for his sophomore year.
Boozer had a terrific overall season, and as it went on and he took on more responsibility, he really began to stand out, and it wasn’t because he was flashy.
Boozer has a rare knack: he tends to be in the right place at the right time, and he makes smart decisions. A lot of people never acquire that sense of movement.
In fact, if you go back and watch UNC’s loss to VCU, you’ll notice that quite often, players don’t move:
they stand and wait for the ball to come to them. This is not at all a problem for Boozer, and he has a winner’s mentality too.
There are many questions left to answer about Duke’s roster, but point guard will be a strong point. In fact, we could see Scheyer emulating what Mike Krzyzewski did in 2001, and star two point guards. Jason Williams and Chris Duhon developed superb chemistry and helped lead the Blue Devils to the national championship.
