WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora finally has a new date for a fight against Keith Thurman, which had originally been scheduled for Oct. 25 before Fundora suffered a hand injury during
training camp. The fight, which has long been discussed, has formally found a new landing spot at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on March 28. The fight will stream live as a PBC on Prime PPV headliner.
Now that the fight has had it’s rescheduled date finally announced, we can move forward with the promotion without it simply being an open-ended postponement, which is essentially has been over the last few months.
Thurman (36-1, 23 KOs), is most recently coming off a stoppage win over Brock Jarvis nearly a full year ago, while Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) stopped Tim Tszyu last July. He’ll be looking to successfully defend his world title strap in this outing while Thurman looks to become a champion once again, at age 37.
