Last weekend was one devoid of many upsets, so there wasn’t much change, and Alabama held serve at #10. In fact, the only thing that did change was Ole Miss and Oregon swapping spots.
1. Ohio State 2. Indiana
3. Texas A&M 4. Georgia 5. Texas Tech 6. Oregon 7. Ole Miss 8. Oklahoma 9. Notre Dame 10. Alabama 11. BYU 12. Miami
Now maybe the committee is giving Oregon credit for beating a ranked USC team. Which… to this point they haven’t seemed to care too much about wins. But it seems more likely they are pre-penalizing the Rebels for the potential loss of head coach Lane Kiffin, and setting them up to be a team that gets booted from the playoffs if Alabama doesn’t screw things up for themselves this week.
As far as the actual playoff bracket, Tulane is now the charity G5 team that gets the 12th spot in favor over BYU.
Alabama is now at -210 to make the Playoffs, according to FanDuel. Essentially, the odds makers think the Tide’s chances have dropped ever so slightly since last week, ostensibly as the Tide is now guaranteed an SEC championship berth if they beat Auburn, which could hurt them more than help. What great system, guys.
