This evening, a pair of NFC teams who have started the season rather unimpressively meet to try to take a step back towards contention in their respective divisions. The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys
have reached their current sub-.500 records in different ways, but both are multiple games back of their division leaders as they approach the midpoint of the 2025 season.
For Dallas, their story is a tale of two sides of the football. The Cowboys offense is one of the more explosive units in the NFL and they are one of just two teams averaging at least 30 points per game. Their defense, on the other hand, is allowing even more points, likewise sitting as one of just two teams allowing an average of 30 or more.
Arizona’s 2-5 record comes entirely as a result of close games. Every one of their seven games this season has been separated by seven points or fewer, with each of their five losses coming by no more than four points. That includes a 27-23 defeat at the hands of the Green Bay Packers in week 7, which was their most recent game as they had a week 8 bye.
With Kyler Murray out once again, can backup Jacoby Brissett put enough points on the board to outscore Dak Prescott and the high-octane Cowboys offense? Tune in tonight to find out.
