Bayern Munich seems to have found former head of scouting Nils Schmadtke’s replacement following his impending exit.
According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, current chief scout Christoph Kresse will take over from Schmadtke for the time being. Whether Kresse’s role will stay as a temporal solution or becomes a permanent fix is still in the air:
EXCL | The plan is for current Chief Scout Christoph Kresse to take over from Nils Schmadtke on an interim basis for now. Whether this would become
a permanent appointment or remain an interim solution is still open. The 34 y/o is highly regarded and has built an excellent network over the past few years. He joined FC Bayern as a scout in December 2024 and was promoted to Chief Scout under Schmadtke. Christopher Vivell, also highly regarded at FC Bayern and has a close relationship with Christoph Freund. However, he remains under contract with Manchester United until the summer. #MUFC @SkySportDE
As previously reported, there were rumors that Bayern would turn its attention toward Manchester United’s Christopher Vivell; however, Vivell is under contract, and Bayern could be looking for an internal solution while searching for a long-term option.
