What is the story about?

The Kansas City Chiefs are off to a strong start this season, and so are two players in particular: running back Kenneth Walker and left tackle Kahlil Benson. Walker was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month and Benson was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month.

Shoutout to Arrowhead Pride user Cherbonek for sharing the news and some good notes on each player.

Running back Jerick McKinnon was the last Chiefs player to be named AFC Offensive Player of the Month, earning it in December 2022, the month

after quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the award for November.

The season before, Mahomes won the award in December of 2021. He also won the award in November 2020, September 2019, and 2018.

While with the Seattle Seahawks, Walker won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award, but the last Chiefs player to earn it before Benson was running back Kareem Hunt in 2017; he won in September and December that year.
