Well, well, well.
Bayern Munich held a closed final training session today, complete with privacy screens designed to keep prying eyes away from Vincent Kompany’s tactical masterplan. Unfortunately for Bayern Munich, nobody told Bild that “closed” is more of a suggestion than a legally binding agreement.
Despite the screens, Bild somehow (Go go gadget arms!) managed to sneak a few glimpses of the session and report on one of the exercises. And what earth-shattering tactical secrets did the German tabloid
uncover? Luis Díaz, Harry Kane, and Ismael Saibari were playing without bibs, while Tom Bischof, Josip Stanišić, Jonathan Tah, Dayot Upamecano, Aleksandar Pavlović, Sacha Boey, and Kim Min-jae were wearing them.
BIB ALERT! BIB ALERT! BIB ALERT!
BILD managed to catch glimpses of today’s closed final training session despite the privacy screens. During one exercise, Luis Díaz, Harry Kane and Ismael Saibari were among those playing without bibs. Somewhere inside Säbener Straße, Kompany is probably staring at the security cameras, wondering how his carefully guarded training session turned into a full-blown espionage thriller.
Are Bild reporters out here scaling walls, deploying thermal imaging equipment, bribing pigeons, and attempting to decipher Kompany’s training methods like they’re trying to steal the launch codes for a nuclear submarine?
At this rate, Bayern might need to replace the privacy screens with a 30-foot concrete wall, surround the training ground with a moat, and employ attack dogs (“Christoph, release the hounds!”).
Even then, Bild would probably find a way to snipe some pics.
The good news? Bayern’s tactical secrets remain mostly intact.
The bad news? We now know who has the bibs.
