Anthony Gordon’s name is reportedly back on the agenda
at Barcelona and is another reason why Deco took a trip to London in the last few days.An exclusive report from Mundo Deportivo states that Deco made the trip to discuss moves for Joao Pedro and Gordon and adds the Newcastle star is now prioritising a move to Camp Nou.
Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also keen on the England international, but Gordon’s “greatest desire” is to play for Barcelona.
Barcelona are said to be willing a offer five-year
contract and see Gordon’s wage demands as affordable. The transfer fee might be a problem, however, as Newcastle value Gordon at around €85-90 million.
Gordon would be brought in to strengthen Barca’s left flank but he can also play as a striker. MD say Barca are also still looking for a center-forward but if they do sign Gordon “the pressure to sign a goalscorer would be lessened.”
Barcelona’s top striker targets are Julian Alvarez and Joao Pedro but both deals currently seem difficult to do as neither Atletico nor Chelsea want to sell.
