Worcester: W, 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

There wasn’t a whole lot of offense on either side of the WooSox/Mud Hens (Tigers AAA) series finale, but Vinny Capra set the tone for Worcester with his eighth home run of the season. The ship was steered correctly for four innings by Patrick Sandoval, who had the most productive and consistent outing of his rehab, but who I still hope doesn’t become a mainstay on the Major League roster. The WooSox pitching staff as a whole was awesome, not allowing an extra-base hit or a hit with runners in scoring
position all afternoon. Jason Delay called game with a 2-RBI knock with two outs in the sixth, and that was that.
Portland: W, 6-0 (BOX SCORE)

The Sea Dogs game also got off to a great start as Miguel Bleis cranked his third home run of the weekend and eighth of the season, while Franklin Arias subsequently added a few runs with a grounder into the outfield. Against the arm of Blake Wehunt on Sunday, the Yard Goats (Rockies AA) weren’t getting close to a W. Wehunt retired eighteen of nineteen batters he faced, allowing just a double, and struck out eight, getting through six innings in an efficient 71 pitches. The bullpen proceeded to allow just one more hit while striking out four Yard Goats, bringing the K total to 13. Arias matched Hartford’s hit count himself by the top of the fifth.
Greenville: L, 5-8 (BOX SCORE)

If you were a Greenville Drive batter and your name wasn’t Gerardo Rodriguez or Isaiah Jackson, you didn’t get a hit on Sunday hosting Asheville (Astros High-A). If you were a pitcher, you got taken for twelve total hits and walked nine Tourists. And of course if any part of this applies to you, hi! I love covering your minor lines. But, in the highly likely event that doesn’t apply, know that even admist these weakening factors, Greenville still found itself in a tie game, 5-5, going into the ninth, where they promptly gave up three runs in the game in a contest that should not have even been close all things being considered.
Salem: L, 6-7 (BOX SCORE)

Although the RidgeYaks allowed four consecutive innings of runs from the Pelicans (Cubs A) and committed three errors, they also scored runs in each of the last three innings including getting four consecutive batters on in the bottom of the ninth, and Starlyn Nunez called game on a line drive.
