Bayern Munich and Harry Kane have approached talks of renewing the England captain’s contract ahead of its’ expiry on June 30, 20207, in a very relaxed and comfortable manner. The Bavarians were more than happy to allow Kane to finish the 2025/26 season, play in the World Cup and enjoy his vacation before starting talks in earnest.
Everybody around them, though, is not nearly as relaxed. In particular, the German media have been asking Kane about contract talks with Bayern any chance they have, to
which the former Tottenham Hotspur player would regurgitate the same key phrases of “being relaxed” and “not being in a hurry”. These things take time, after all. In the latest update, however, Kane was open about how close the two parties are to an agreement:
“We’re still talking. We’re in good talks, I’ll be honest,” Kane stated (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We’re fairly close. There’s still some things that we need to iron out. I’m happy there. I think it won’t be too long before there’s some sort of announcement.”
If Kane is indeed correct, perhaps Bayern fans will get an early Christmas present in the near future.
