Erling Haaland is once again being tipped to move to La Liga as speculation over his future continues to swirl in the wake of Manchester City having been found guilty of 114 breaches of financial rules over a nine-year period.
The Norway international has long been seen as a “dream signing” for Barcelona, and reporter Matteo Moretto says that the City goal machine will end up in the Spanish top flight at some point.
“Haaland has always chosen his next destination step by step, considering the sporting
aspect,” he said, per Marca.
“He’s winning and has won a lot. I think his next step will be La Liga. We still need to see which team, but he would really like to play in La Liga. Haaland has that dream.
“From what I hear, sooner or later he’ll end up in Spain.”
Manchester City have lodged an appeal against the independent commission’s guilty verdict and it’s currently unclear what will happen next.
There has already been talk of harsh sanctions if the guilty verdict is upheld, including relegation from the Premier League which could potentially see an exodus of top players from the club.
